Wombourne Parish Council was originally established in 1894 and took its present form in 1974. We represent the first tier of local Government being the closest to the Community.
The Parish Council owns and manages Poolhouse Play Area, Bratch Park, Brickbridge Playing Fields and changing rooms, the public conveniences in the village centre, as well as the Civic Centre Complex which houses the Parish Council Offices, function and meeting rooms.
The Parish Council organise the annual Christmas Lights Switch On in Wombourne as well as providing the illuminations in the trees to the front of the Civic Centre, around the Cricket Green and in Windmill Bank.
The Parish Council annually support Small Business Saturday to encourage local residents into the Village shops as well as Wombourne Carnival providing its facilities free of charge for this popular annual event.
The Parish Council supports The Best Kept Village Committee in keeping the Village neat and tidy.
The Civic Reception is an annual event in the Parish Calendar to recognise the work of our Councillors and other volunteers in the parish.
Wombourne Parish Council supports the interests of local residents by responding to consultations on planning applications as well as local plans and strategies that may affect our area.
Parish Councillors are volunteers who receive no payments or expenses, they are elected every four years with the next elections being in 2019.
