VE Day 2020
For those who are not aware, the May Day Bank Holiday has been changed this year to Friday 8th May 2020 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day – which marks the end of World War Two, when fighting against Nazi Germany came to an end in Europe.
This year, the Parish Council along with our friends at Wombourne – Best Kept Village are celebrating the anniversary with a red, white and blue colour scheme for all of the summer bedding plants in the village this year.
The Parish Council are also considering the planting of trees in various locations across the village in conjunction with the local schools to commemorate the anniversary. Watch this space for further information on this.
We would however be interested to hear the views of residents as to what other celebrations you would like to see to mark this event.
Please get in touch with the Parish Council office on 01902 896300 or via email at enquiries@wombourneparishcouncil.org.uk.
